Written Component 1 briefing update
For the next four weeks, I propose to further study the representation of doublespeak. As a designer, I am most interested in understanding how it is present in the visual content we absorb every day. After selecting some cases, I will identify what it is representing, what was the intension of the creator and how the audience perceives it, possibly using data visualization to better explain the information. Then, my goal is to create graphic collages that compare the various dimensions and, ultimately, bring everything into one image. To achieve this, I will use layering, inspired by the scanned iterations produced for the “100 screengrabs” exercise, since it allows to play with the overlap of content as a form of comparison. In the end, I aim to produce several images and compile them in a single medium, for instance, a digital book or a website.
